Opening Parade

Each year the Yackandandah Folk Festival opens with a celebratory community parade in High St. at 6.30pm on Friday night - March 20th  - prior to the Opening concerts.

This year the parade will begin and end at the Yackandandah Primary School, processing down High St. and back again. As an expression of the vitality of the Yackandandah community, the 2009 parade will consist of more than just the school children parading their creative work, although they are sure to be a feature!

Yackandandah Community organisations, groups and individuals of all descriptions are encouraged to join the school kids and the visiting festival performers in the parade with banners, festival music and art and an enthusiastic sense of community celebration.
