Help Celebrate 10 Years Of The Yack Folk Festival!

Were you, your children or your friends a part of last years Opening Parade for the Folk Festival and want to do it again?? Did you miss out on being a part of it last year but harbour a secret desire to be in it this year but not sure how to go about it?? Well, here’s the good news! ANYONE can be in the Opening Parade and it’s not hard to do it! All you have to do is a) register an expression of interest so we can get an idea about numbers, b) get together with friends or come as an individual or family group in the theme and c) turn up on the night to have some fun! IT”S THAT EASY!!!

The theme this year is “WINGS”, which can be interpreted anyway you would like. You can dress up or make something around the theme, be as colourful, outrageous or way-out as you like. Our only guidelines are that there are be no motorized vehicles involved in your plan. And if “wings” doesn’t fit then we really don’t mind. We just want you to show up and be part of the fun!

To add to the fun and frivolity this year a theatre group called “FEET” will be joining us to really get the procession moving in the right direction! Need more information?

Then come and check it out for yourself; it’s like something, and yet like nothing, you have ever seen before!

This year the procession will start at the courthouse and finish at the marquee at the school Starting time will be around 6:00pm.
